Iron Brew Works is the studio of Dan McCoy — a running journal of making things well, by hand and by machine, in a downsized life built for focus.
It's one stream: a quick thought, a photograph, a finished essay, a film. Some days a line; some days a whole build. Cooking, making, writing, code, and the camera — four rooms of the same house.
The name comes from this place. The 85-year-old house this studio lives in was built for the bookkeeper of a local Fredericksburg bottler that made a soda called Iron Brew in the early 1900s. The recipe is lost. The work continues.
